Job Description

  • Lead a team and drive business process of DPP innitiatives
  • Equal counterpart of senior team of DPP
  • Ensure all DPP requirements and future journeys of DPP are captured
  • Work cross-functionally with Technical PM, Technical analyst and other department to achieve effectiveness during project implementation
  • Do sprint planning, daily huddle, sprint review, retrospective and initiate discovery phase for every project
IT Strategy Planning and Initiatives (15%) To participate in setting up the organization long term strategies, capacity plan, annual systems development goals and IT initiatives and control the implementation, in order to ensure the achievement of organization objectives in alignment with company strategic goals.
  • To propose and initiate new initiatives that brings significant benefits and added values to the company and customers. To analyze initiatives feasibility and provide advices and inputs for the suited technology to be used.
  • To set organization goals, priorities & KPI of strategic goals/priorities, and communicate them to associates.
  • To network with professional counterparts inside and outside the company/group or professional associations to stay informed of new developments in hardware and software technology changes.
Business Analysis & System Implementation DPP (40%) To plan/organize/manage system analysts development activities based on the system development life cycle, to meet user requirements and agreed project priorities/target.
  • To handle integrated or major TDA project management and execution by collecting detailed user requirements, propose effective solution, produce Functional Specification & User Acceptance Test Plan, prepare test cases & assist the User Acceptance Test execution, assist in user training and deployment preparation for the end users
  • To do business impact analysis on all new/enhanced application deployment and to assist user and IT to prepare and execute proper change management plan and activities to ensure that all impacts have been considered and addressed
  • To organize all projects, manage prioritizations, review items & schedule, assign projects to subordinates, supervise and evaluate the target dates and deliverables.
  • To apply the established IT quality standards, quality policies, and quality procedures in the software development and testing process
  • To follow the testing guideline and to supervise User Acceptance Test against various test cases to obtain qualified test results through the proper and efficient methodology
  • To develop internal operating policies and procedures and ensures they are well documented for use and referenced by associates. To follow and comply with group and local IT Standard Operating Procedures, service level standards, compliance and security policies, and methodologies including Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Systems Maintenance (20%) To control, organize, and monitor system maintenance activities; review system maintenance procedures and its implementation, in order to ensure availability and reliability of systems/application to support company operations and achievement of business goals
  • To analyze possibility for system fine tuning and optimization to improve the performance
  • To provide necessary troubleshooting and production supports when a breakdown occurs, and to immediately remedy the system when flaws encountered
  • To participate in Business Continuity Management activities in assisting the Disaster Recovery site preparation in conjunction with the application setups and the DR drill
People Development (20%) To supervise, coordinate and evaluate performance of human resources; liaise with external training vendor and HRD in enhancing associates’ soft and hard skills; review individual potential and plan, in order to ensure availability of competent human resources and increase divisional performance.
  • To define subordinates’ job objectives and performance plans and reinforce each subordinate’s role in achieving targets, as well as to provide directions and supports for daily activities.
  • To establish semi-annual / annual performance review. Provide feedback to subordinates to ensure the growth and people quality expectations are met.
  • To set up the people development plan to upgrade knowledge and skills, and create growing opportunities to all subordinates.
Finance Management (5%) Allocate the Capex and GOE financial budget and control expenditures and report variances on implementation, in order to ensure cost effectiveness. Financial: To optimize all GOE and Capex budget for the current year as allocated. Non-Financial:
  • To achieve KPI for system development according to agreed SLA (Strategic/Project/Product/Maintenance/Enhancement/Regulatory)
  • To achieve KPI for data application support activities according to agreed SLA (maintenance/bugs fixing/case analysis/supporting activities/enhancement)
  • To meet audit and compliance requirement at a "Need Minor Enhancement" level.
  • To facilitate knowledge and skill development; and promote excellent performance of the associates.
REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor Degree (S1) Degree in Technical/Information System/Other related educations Experience: 9 years’ working experience with 3 years in managerial position Certifications/licenses (are an advantage):
  • Technical certification (e.g. Microsoft, Oracle)
  • Business certification (e.g. FLMI from LOMA)
Special skills:
  • Strong Business Analysis, Project Management and Software Development Life Cycle
  • Good understanding of Life Insurance products and business processes
  • Familiar with policy administration systems (e.g. LIFE/ASIA)
  • Knowledgeable in computer programming, database design, enterprise software, operating systems and hardware
  • Excellent Communication Skill
  • Able to communicate in English
  • Strong Leadership
  • Good analytical skill & can think out of the box
  • Proven professional experience in designing and implementing enterprise scale of Policy Admin System, Accounting System, Compensation System, Sales Distribution Mobile Application / Portal, Customer Mobile Application / Portal, Customer Relationship Management, Enterprise Services Bus, Business Process Management, Enterprise Workflow, Data Integration, B2B, B2C, Data Warehouse, Data Analytics, Data Quality, Anti Money Laundering, Predictive Modelling, Electronic Identification System and Cloud computing – Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS)
