About the Role


As the head of Business Intelligence Payments, you'll be the single point of accountability for the Business Intelligence team's deliverables in Payments, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Business Strategists, Marketing, Research, and Data Science while driving alignment between the Data team's priorities and business objectives. You will take a hands-on approach in leading the development and deployment of data-driven solutions, working closely with the Data Warehouse team to design, develop, and manage our data warehouse. Your efforts will translate complex business problems across Risk and Growth into workable solutions to enable teams to build, deploy, and scale data solutions


What You Will Do

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to translate complex business problems across Risk and Growth to data-driven solutions
  • Lead advanced data visualization and analytic projects, such as user states, customer segmentation, and RFM to support our rapid business growth
  • Be outcome-driven; everything we do need metrics, and you will define, report, and improve these metrics
  • Build a solid business context to effectively partner and collaborate with many types of stakeholders, including product managers, analysts, data scientists, and leaders from different teams and functions
  • Recruit, hire and train new team members as you grow your BI team. Mentor and develop team’s capabilities and set up learning and development plans for them
  • Continue to strive for innovation. Be aware of developments in this domain, emerging technologies, academic progress, and vendor offerings
  • Deliver the solutions on time and within budget - be execution and delivery driven

What You Will Need

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a relevant quantitative field
  • At least 10 years of experience as a data analyst, or in the Business Intelligence or Data Science fields
  • At least 7 years of experience in leading a team
  • Advanced knowledge in SQL (BQ), data visualization, statistics, and data science with proven experience formulating scalable solutions to business problems across Risk and Growth
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing modeling
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience driving projects from inception to completion

About the Team

Our team likes to see ourselves as what blood is to the brain - constantly supplying the brain with oxygen so it can function properly. Our super team of 25 BI Analysts and Data Warehouses supply data and insights that fuel GTF Payment’s innovations and evolutions. How does one achieve this, you may ask? Through our data products (automated dashboards, reports, alerts, and simulation tools) and continuous collaboration with the folks in the business and product teams. We are in charge of creating foundational customer segmentation, designing automation processes for campaign tracking, and providing regular reports to the leadership team. Anything data-related within the growth, digital inclusion, or risk and fraud is what our team is concerned about✌

But despite how hardworking we may seem, we do know how to have fun, too. As a matter of fact, we select someone from the team to become our ‘Minister of Entertainment’ every month. The honorary person then will decide what fun activities we can do together . This is especially an important tradition for us with WFH becoming more normalized. While we do miss our monthly outings/dinners, thank goodness for the invention of Slack and Zoom calls that keep us feeling close.
