Job Description

A luxury Womenswear Bridal/Haute Couture brand in Nigeria is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Bridal / Haute Couture Tailor (Full-Time)

Responsibilities:

  • Creating bespoke tailored pieces from start to finish, using the finest traditional sewing and tailoring techniques (from pattern making to cutting to tailoring)
  • Choosing appropriate construction techniques and interfacing/interlining fabrics to reach the highest level of quality for each style
  • Cutting, mounting, hand and/or machine sewing and pressing of all parts of the tailored garments
  • Performing toile and fabric fitting for the tailored garments and making the necessary alterations to achieve a perfect fit
  • Coaching and supporting team members
  • Sewing of wedding dresses, woven jackets, tailored suits, couture dresses and other custom-made women’s clothing
  • Sewing all apparel fabric types from light weight silks to delicate lace to chiffon and organza as well as twill and denim.
  • Present at fittings to understand and assist in executing alterations
  • High knowledge in corsetry construction for wedding dresses and other bespoke dresses
  • Tailoring figure-fitting garments for both slim and plus-sized women
  • Working closely with the Creative director in order to execute her design ideas

Requirements:

  • Indonesian citizen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years experience in tailoring
  • Strong experience in sewing wedding dresses & tailored suits for women is a must
  • Ability to safely use different types of industrial sewing/tailoring machines
  • Good hand/eye coordination
  • Ability to create garment patterns to be used for cutting
  • Very knowledgeable on various fabrics and sewing techniques for them
  • Very knowledgeable on complex cutting techniques excellent garment construction knowledge
  • Superior hand and machine sewing skills
  • High attention to detail and good finishing
  • Able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with others, as a team
