The Power Grids business offers power and automation products, systems, service and software solutions across the generation, transmission and distribution value chain. Supervise the installation & Commissioning activities on new GIS installations and ensure they are performed in line with standard work instructions with proper documentation and ensuring safety of self and other working with the GIS.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure the area is ready to start the work through inspection and checklist.
  • Performs hazards risk assessment as per the approved method statement and ensure are work related risks are identified, recorded and mitigation actions are proposed so that the risk is acceptable level.
  • Conduct kick off meeting with customer before project start and participate in regular site progress review meeting.
  • Prepare project schedule indicating the date of site takeover and schedule for various activities until HV PD test.
  • Ensure the technicians working on the GIS activities are wearing appropriate PPE and follow right work instruction.
  • Ensure the required material are received at site in right quantity and without damage during transport or storage.
  • Conduct daily tool box / ST5 with all the workers assigned for the job on the particular day.
  • Conducting the SAT activities as per our internal protocols & practices and document the same as per ISO standards.
  • Ensures safety standards are followed considering Hitachi Energy standard guidelines as well as local safety guidelines.
  • Preparation of nonconformities found at our product/site materials at any stage of execution and report the same to concern the project / site manager and get them resolved to ensure smooth progress of GIS service activities.
  • Ensure the results of SAT as per our internal protocols and cross check with factory routine tests (FRT) and factory acceptance test (FAT) in case if required.
  • Prepare and send the site corrected/red marked drawings to engineering department for as built preparation.
  • Handover the GIS, spares to customers with proper documentation in a ready for energization state.

Your background

  • A Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience On Site Experience on Installation, Testing and Commissioning of GIS, GIL or PASS M0
  • Technical Experience and Certification – Minimum a Level 2 or Level 3 Certified Field Service Engineer for GIS, GIL or PASSMO. Experience in Service, Installation, testing and commissioning of high voltage GIS (66kV and above).
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, ACAD.
  • Knowledge of relevant International standards ex. IEEE, IEC etc
