Job Description

  • Regularly collaborate with warehouse team and prioritize fabric inspection based on the urgency of the order
  • Checking that fabric inspection and process in warehouse adheres to standards and procedures and complying with legal requirements
  • Reviewing blueprints and specifications to compare to incoming materials
  • Ensure all required information regarding the fabric delivery is received from Warehouse before proceeding with inspection
  • Recording inspection results by completing reports and inputting data into quality database
  • Review inspection data to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the inspection reports
  • Training the production team on quality control to improve product excellence
  • Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training
  • Monitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and discard any that do not meet requirements
  • Keeping measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and calling for repairs
  • Participate in pre-production meetings to notify all related departments teams regarding any potential problems with the fabric, e.g. serious defects and/or color shading in fabric
  • Track performance of the incoming fabric quality and feedback to Fabric Procurement Senior Associate
  • Provide technical advice in dealing with customers on fabric inspection related issues
  • Meet with suppliers as needed to ensure there is a mutual understanding in terms of fabric inspection requirements and standards
  • Identify key expectations of fabric inspectors from their jobs
  • Work to meet the key expectations of fabric inspectors where appropriate, and build and maintain effective and respectful working relationships to drive high fabric inspector engagement
  • Promote effective teamwork among fabric inspectors
  • Identify the strengths and development needs of fabric inspectors and provide the continuous support, guidance, feedback, and coaching to enhance work performance

  • Fluent in english (min. passive)
  • Minimum 3 years experience in garment industry as fabric QC Supervisor
  • Familiar with GAP/Target/Wallmart quality initiative
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Keen attention to details
  • Basic computer and math skills to calibrate and measure specifications
  • Ability to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers and computers
  • In-depth understanding of company standards
  • Up-to-date knowledge of federal and industry standards and best practices
  • Understanding of target market and consumer needs
  • Blueprint reading capabilities
  • Documentation and reporting skills
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time
  • Good leadership skill
