Responsibilities: Reporting directly to the GZ Engineering Manager, the Well Planner is involved early in the Secure Drilling business process, conducting rig surveys, generating Process & Instrumentation Diagrams [P&ID], and creating a draft Master Equipment List [MEL]. In addition to this the Project and Technical Support Co-ordinator will support Sales group with equipment and installation expertise in order to create detailed client proposals and bids.
Following receipt of customer purchase order/contract award, and participation in Contract Review meeting, the Well planner & operations management assume full responsibility for delivering an equipment package that meets with Customer requirements, with assistance from the Base management
Once the MPD Well Planner has received signed client call off, he will work with Materials & Workshop to consolidate equipment package ready for shipping. The MPD Well Planner will have final sign off of any equipment that is to be shipped. Once equipment has reached district, the MPD well planner will local checks and Pre-job Briefings prior to mobilisation to rig.

  • Conduct MPD Engineering studies including drilling, tripping, cementing and run completion in managed pressure drilling mode.
  • Conduct Rig Surveys, generating preliminary Process & instrumentation Diagrams and Master Equipment Lists. Support Business Development with expertise relating to Equipment & Installation
  • Work with client Drilling Engineers to ensure any Engineering requirements are met for individual OperationsPlot and prepare CAD drawings to deliver to customers and to rig locations.
  • Receive surveys from directional drillers in the field and enter them into the computer along with well information to produce daily reports and compile end of well recaps to present to customers.
  • Ensure WPTS incident job tracking database is kept current and any investigations are closed out. Attend pre-planning meetings with customers.
  • Perform limited sales when required.
  • Oversee and assist where required with Operations manager to ensure individual operations are performed in the most safe, efficient manner, while working to agreed processesMust understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of Drilling Planning/ Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) Planning experience
  • College experience in technical drawing application
  • Proficient verbal and written skills
  • Ability to work closely with customers and fellow employees
  • Multi-tasking ability
