Job Description

The National Sales Manager has responsibility for the development and execution of the sales strategy for a small to medium cluster, geographic area or trade lanes. Role will also leads local sales team to ensure delivery of business objectives and targets.

Key responsibilities

Delivery per country target
  • Leverages understanding of the local business environment to support development of the sales strategy
  • Creates, articulates and drives the implementation of local strategies for different customer segments, encompassing ocean products and with a strong focus on logistics and services
  • Leads and sets the direction for the local sales team to deliver volume, grow revenue and optimize profits
  • Oversees forecasting and budgeting processes to align with business goals

Customer engagement and stakeholder management
  • Maintains and promotes long-lasting relationships with top accounts
  • Ensures optimal activity management and account management to truly understand customers and their needs
  • Makes joint sales calls with sales representatives and channel managers
  • Actively engage with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on customer needs and market intelligence to further drive value proposition

Leadership
  • Provide leadership through effective communication of business strategy and provide coaching and development to build efficient sales capability and talent
  • Manage stakeholders across the cluster, region and Headquarter
  • Lead transformation from the front as per the overall company strategy
  • Ensure best practices sharing across teams
  • Manage cross functional relationships and actively provide input to product team on product value proposition
  • Provide business planning input to Indonesia cluster
  • Build and Develop a best-in-class Sales Team
  • Ensure Succession plans are in place for key roles including own role
  • Coach direct reports for success and development
  • Manage local engagement

We are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree holder or above.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a Sales or Commercial role, preferably in a senior leadership position.
  • Senior expertise on ocean and logistic products (contract logistic, warehouse & distribution)
  • Knowledge of the local and international market landscape as well as industry trends.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a proven track record in Sales and leadership.
  • Strong negotiator with strategic partnering, business and acumen and networking skills
  • With people management experience, including experience in coaching and/or mentoring
  • Fluent communication skills in written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia (Intermediate proficiency in spoken, written and reading) is a highly preferable skill to have for this role
