Location - Remote - Pacific Region
Under general supervision of the National Director, the Director of Organizational Development, Club Financial Services is responsible for providing financial management support to local organizations assuring that adequate systems are in place in to account for organizational finances and to assist in promoting a culture of high ethical standards and accountability particularly related to financial governance. This position collaborates closely with the regional and specialty markets of field services, BGCA Financial Services, the Internal Audit Team, the Federal Grants department, and Business Intelligence.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop tools, resources, and other collateral to improve the overall financial health of local organizations
Review and analyze findings of internal and external audits ensuring response plans from local organizations where appropriate
Identify most common audit findings and other weaknesses to develop appropriate training and education to assist Clubs in implementing necessary preventive measures
Work with other DODs, local boards and Club staff to ensure a plan of action is in place to address the audit findings, including, corrective actions needed, implementation steps, timelines, required systems and on-going follow-up on implementation of recommended systems, procedures and processes
Elevate the importance of financial governance in the Boys & Girls Club movement
Meet with the leadership of the local Club Organizations, if needed, and assist in strengthening internal control procedures and systems in accordance with standards
Develop and communicate additional procedures as need to assist organizations to comply with all financial management and reporting requirements
Develop and communicate additional procedures as need to assist organizations to comply with certain BGCA membership requirements
Provide technical assistance, training and education to Clubs as well as field facing teams on financial management and financial governance
Able to clearly articulate, both internally and externally, how financial health and sustainability is a key organizational development lever for stronger organizations
Working with Business Intelligence, and others, determine, track, and report on key financial metrics and trends.
Ensure cooperative and productive working relationships with Club staff, board members, and BGCA staff
This position will also serve in a DOD capacity, carrying small (typically 5-10) portfolio of Clubs
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct and/or participate in state, regional, and national staff meetings and conferences.
Occasionally serve as financial advisor on Club Impact/Advance teams
Assist with other projects and assignments as requested

Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or social services or education/experience equivalency required
Minimum five years’ experience in financial management, administration and operation of a Boys & Girls Club (or similar organization) or seven years’ experience working in the field of organizational development and non-profit consulting
Demonstrated successful experience with financial management working with boards and executive staff
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook

High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Superior interpersonal abilities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, at all times displaying tact, maturity and flexibility. Must have good reasoning abilities and sound judgment. Physical requirements include sight, hearing, sitting for four plus hours per day. Skills essential for successful communications include speaking and writing. Must be physically able to travel by air, car, train, or other modes of transportation.
ENVIRONMENTAL & WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal internal working environment.
Approximately 50-70% travel.
The individual selected for this position must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to navigate areas of the country by using a map or other direction methods.
