About the role


The Planning Manager will support the goals and programs established by the management team to continually improve through analytical ability, problem solving and decision skills to plan and co-ordinate supply chain to achieve high customer service.

Key responsibilities


  • Plan monthly production schedule as per demand forecast/orders in MRP
  • Revise production schedule if necessary, i.e ad-hoc production requests from customers
  • Do yearly production plan and provide yearly planning and stock overview from month to month
  • Update production planned quantity in MRP for stock allocation. Follow-up daily production versus plan. Update product disposition status in MRP.
  • Daily update product availability base on outstanding order report to customer service
  • Responsible for the supply planning functions such as MIP planning for Master Scheduling & MRP planning, FGs inventory and RCCP plan. Develop optimum level of supply planning execution to support Business Units & Operations.
  • Ensure the right capacity and capability in place to supply and deliver end products to customer. Ensure sales orders, inventories, supply plans are properly managed including close monitoring of excess, slow moving, aging and phase in and phased out models
  • Addressing critical product shortages by adjusting production schedule or shipping requirements and/or communicating with Customer Service team
  • Communicating short- and long-term production plan and shipping requirement to appropriate facilities
  • Plan monthly raw material, ingredients and packaging material requirement for production. Do a checking with production for raw material usage during weekend and ensure requirement is met. Follow-up closely with suppliers on raw material & packaging material delivery as per schedule.
  • Monitor Finished Good stock status
  • Check MRP month-end stock balance against WH stock tracking. Update month-end stock balance in MRP for following month’s stock allocation.
  • Address age of product to minimize product write-offs. Address aging stock to push for sales or rework. Do stock allocation when there is a shortage and/or urgent orders, etc. Report monthly actual versus targeted rework aging stock.
  • Monitor Packaging Material stock status. Check and verify month-end packaging material balance for following months requirement planning.
  • Raise PR when additional purchase is required
  • Monitor Raw Material contract status. Check monthly actual raw material delivery versus plan. Update raw material contract status
  • Advise global procurement on raw material purchasing. Provide quarterly raw material forecast to global procurement. Follow up closely on imported raw materials delivery with purchasing & logistic department.
  • Working with the operations, warehouse and other related department to develop more cost-effective methods of planning, storing, or shipping product
  • Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time

Qualifications and skills


  • Candidate will be qualified to degree level in a Business / Commercial, Supply Chain, or related discipline
  • ERP / Demand planning systems / SAP experience is a must
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain / planning roles, with a minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in demand planning.
  • Should be able to express ideas effectively in both individual and group situations. In addition, he/she should be able to organize and express ideas clearly in written documents. Is able to make effective formal presentations with minimal supervision.
  • Computer Skills: advanced in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, master production planning, distribution requirements planning and inventory planning methodologies.
