Responsibilities

  • Do Research!
  • Lead large research initiatives that involve or impact multiple squads.
  • Act as a research consultant: provides directions and strategies, turn UX research insights into solutions
  • Able to tackle the large complex project with multiple variables, investigate and resolve areas of significant ambiguity
  • Create long term roadmap by breaking down the tasks contributing to the team's objectives over the next 2-3 months
  • Ensure the efforts of researcher in each tribe are aligned to the product and tribe goals
  • Set goals, make sure that the team achieve the ROI to measure Review the work of researchers, ensure the quality is maintained

Becomes a leader who provides direction of the tribe
  • Ensure the efforts of researcher in each squad are aligned to the product and tribe goals
  • In collaboration with circle Leader, set the UXR goal make sure that the team achieve the ROI to measure

Team Management
  • In collaboration with circle lead, recruiting and onboarding the right talent for the tribe
  • In collaboration with circle lead continuously improve group structure, workflow, talent allocation, development practice, etc
  • In collaboration with circle lead conduct quarterly review and performance feedback Mentor new researcher and assess probation performance
  • Mentor and grow the skills of researcher within their tribePromote team member and help them grow in their new role
  • Onboard new joiners with our values, culture, and product knowledge

Stakeholder Management
  • Become the team's representative and mediate any technical disputes between researcher and indirect stakeholders, taking into account all views and opinions. (heads up to circle lead)
  • Evangelize and promote the value of research to other circles and functions
  • Able to manage stakeholders’ expectations and facilitate discussions when the team is tasked with work that's a high risk, complex, or under constrained time

Requirements

  • Min 2 years of professional research experience with leadership experience

Research Understanding
  • Experienced with multiple UX Research methods, understand the right situation to use the right method, able to translate it into actionable insights & implementation
  • Can help teams adopt a wide range of user research methods. Able to plan user research for services with challenging user needs and complex user journeys
  • Able to executing new initiatives and ambiguous tasks by doing further research on their own and coordinating with multiple stakeholders

Stakeholder Management
  • Could provide various product departments with advice on the best product usability trends, practices, and other consumer experience standards.
  • Able to manage stakeholders’ expectations and suggest the best practice to achieve business and product objectives Knows how to engage skeptical colleagues in analysis and synthesis. Able to communicate clearly with lead, head, and all PO across squads.
  • Ability to listen & proactively solve design team issues internally & across team
  • Ability to mentor challenger researchers to grow their leadership and management skills, as well as strong empathy and humbleness to form two-way communication (give feedback and receive criticism with open mind) and build relationship with junior members
