Description
The National REDD+ Specialist will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in climate change and REDD+ activities within the forestry sector and hold a Master’s degree in forestry, climate studies, natural resources management, environmental policy or another related area. Additionally, the specialist must have at least five years’ experience in community forestry, agroforestry, and ecosystem restoration, and possess a working proficiency with environmental and social safeguards requirements. The specialist must have a sound working knowledge of sub-national forest management processes in Indonesia, familiar with local and national institutions involved in climate change, and be proficient with donor agency standards including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and German Development Bank (KfW). He/she will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be fluent in written and spoken English and be able to demonstrate the ability to write professional reports in Bahasa Indonesia and English. This is a project-based position based in Jakarta with travel to project sites.
